About SheetConvert

SheetConvert is a set of free tools for moving data between spreadsheets and the files that phones, calendars and finance apps import.

Why it exists

Getting a contact list onto a phone, a schedule into a calendar or a bank export into accounting software should be simple. But the file formats involved (vCard, iCalendar, OFX, QIF) have strict rules, and many converters either cost money or ask you to upload very personal files to a server. SheetConvert does the conversion inside your browser instead, so your files stay on your device.

Who runs it

The site is built and maintained by Naveen Raja, an independent developer based in India. Questions, bug reports and ideas for new converters are welcome on the contact page.

How the tools are made and checked

• The converters follow the official rules for each file format, and handle the differences found in real files from iPhone, Android, Google, Outlook, Quicken and banks.
• Every converter is tested automatically. Before each release, the files it makes are also checked with independent open-source programs for each format.
• The pages explain what each tool does and doesn’t do, including its limits, so you can decide whether it suits your file.
• When an app changes its import format, or a visitor reports a problem, the tool is updated.
